Sex Offender Registration
Georgia Law requires all individuals that have been convicted of a crime that is “sexual” in nature to register with the Sheriff of the county that they live within. This registry is then updated and made available to the general public so that citizens can be informed of the whereabouts of these individuals.
The Pickens Sheriff’s Office maintains an updated registry of all registerd sex offenders and keeps it up to date. The Pickens Sheriff’s Office also ensures that individuals are compliant with any residency restrictions based on the proximity to schools, parks, churches, and other public gathering places. Depending on the date that the offense was committed, some offenders have more restrictions than others. To stay informed with the restrictions set forth in Georgia Law, you can visit the GBI website and become informed.
