Captain Padgett

Campus Law Enforcement Commander

Captain Shane Padgett, a husband and father to three

children, is a lifelong resident of Pickens County and has

worked for the Pickens Sheriff’s Office for over 26 years.

After graduating from Pickens High School, Captain Padgett

began his career with the Pickens Sheriff Office in 1996

where he started in the jail as a Detention Officer.

Currently Padgett oversees the Uniform Patrol Division,

Campus Law Enforcement and Criminal Investigation

Division day to day operations. Prior to becoming the

agency’s Field Operations Commander, Captain Padgett has

been commander over The Adult detention Center, Uniform

Patrol Division, Court Services, and Campus Law

Enforcement. Captain Padgett is currently attending Columbus

State University’s Project Management Program. He has

over 2300 POST training hours.
