RECORDS DIVISION

Individuals who wish to obtain records or information in accordance with Georgia’s Open Records Act must make their request known in writing.  You can submit your request in the Front Lobby or at https://pickenscountygasheriff.nextrequest.com/   Please list  the following information such as case number, date of incident, name(s) involved, etc... 

Please be advised that pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71, Charges may apply for administrative, supply and copying fees for the cost to search, retrieve, copy and supervise access to the requested documents. This administrative fee represents the hourly rate of the lowest paid full time employee with the necessary training to respond to my request, with no charge for the first fifteen minutes that it takes to respond to the request.

GA Law O.C.G.A. § 35-3-37 provides for the restriction of certain criminal history records for non-criminal justice purposes when approved by the prosecuting attorney. 

For arrests AFTER July 1, 2013 or later, there is no application process required. The prosecutor may  approve the restriction at the time of sentencing. 

For arrests PRIOR to July 1, 2013, the applicant is required to apply for restriction at the arresting agency. The fee is $15.00, cash only exact change. Must have photo ID for verification.
